Dr. Alexander Perez
Dr. Alexander Perez supports the QEP as the Program Manager of Developmental Studies. Under the direction of the Dean of General Education and Transfer Programs, Dr. Perez oversees the successful implementation of the QEP. The QEP Advisory Committee, consisting of faculty, staff members, and students, provides support and oversight to the work of the Program Manager, and assists in the evaluation of the QEP.
As a full-time faculty member in the English department, Dr. Perez also teaches classes on Leesburg Campus and the South Lake Center. Dr. Perez has been a Florida Department of Education certified professional educator since 1993, having taught high school English in Palm Beach County, Miami-Dade County, and Monroe County Public Schools.
Dr. Perez has also worked as an adjunct faculty member with Miami-Dade Community College, Florida Keys Community College, and the University of Phoenix. Dr. Perez joined the LSCC English Department and Educator Preparation Institute as an adjunct faculty member in the fall of 2007, and he joined the full-time faculty in the fall of 2010.
Dr. Perez completed his terminal degree in educational leadership, with a specialization in curriculum and instruction at The University of Phoenix. He has a Bachelor's Degree in English from The University of Vermont, and a Master's Degree in English Education from Teachers College Columbia University.
