Apply for Financial Aid Scholarships
Federal and State Financial Aid
(352) 365-3567 FinAid@lssc.edu
Students who meet federal and state income eligibility requirements may be qualified to receive financial aid to help pay for college expenses. The process for determining eligibility can take several weeks, so it is strongly recommended that students begin the process well in advance of the deadline date. This includes submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov and submitting all required documents. Students who have not done so will be required to pay their fees and wait for reimbursement, provided they qualify for aid.
Scholarship applications are available through the various departments
campus wide. Scholarships may be granted on the basis of academic
ability, special talent (art, music, theatre, etc.), and/or financial need. For
additional information on Institutional Scholarships, please contact the
Financial Aid Office.
Apply for Admission
Students must submit a LSSC application for admission before registering for classes. Since most students must complete additional steps in order to register, it is important to submit the application early. Applications are accepted up until the application deadline. All applications submitted after the deadline will be processed for the following term. Please see the Admissions web page for more information and application deadlines.
NOTE: Residency for tuition purposes is determined based on information provided on the application for admission. Be sure to submit all documentation required to determine residency at that time. Residency status cannot be changed after classes have begun. Click here for more information about residency for tuition purposes.
Apply for Foundation Scholarships
Through the generosity of our community, LSSC is able to offer a variety of scholarships to our students who meet different criteria from financial need, academic achievement and major. Students who wish to apply for a LSSC scholarship must submit a Scholarship Application to the Foundation by the deadline date. For the Fall Semester, applications are available during the month of June, for the Spring Semester, in October; and for the Summer Semester Scholarships are available March. Applications are available online at http://www.lssc.edu/foundation/scholarships.aspx.
Submit Transcripts and Official Documents
New students must submit official verification of graduation from high school (official high school transcript or GED certificate). Transfer students must submit official transcripts from their high school, as well as all previously attended colleges. Students who have earned credit through the CLEP or AP exam must also have those scores submitted to LSSC directly from the College Board. Any official transcripts provided directly from the student must remain in the original sealed envelope provided by the previous institution(s).
