Lake-Sumter Community College students who encounter the message “Academic Standing prohibits Registration” when trying to register in LOIS now has academic status that has fallen into one of three categories: Probation, Continued Probation, or Suspension. The college initiates these categories, in an effort to help if a student fails to meet the standards of academic progress. Once your status changes to Academic Probation or Suspension, you will be required to meet in person with an Academic Advisor before registering each semester you are on probation in order to devise and monitor a plan of action to assist you in your efforts to restore your GPA to good standing. Remember, you may need more than one semester to restore your grade point average to good standing.
