LAKEHawKs Athletics Department

Lake-Sumter State College offers intercollegiate athletics in three sports for both men and women. The LSSC Athletic Program competes in Women's Volleyball, Women's Fast-Pitch Softball, and Men's Baseball. The College competes as a Division 1 program in the Mid-Florida Conference of the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA). The FCSAA is governed by the rules of the National Junior Community College Athletic Association (NJCAA), of which Lake-Sumter is a member. The athletic program is built on the same principles that have made Lake-Sumter the State College of Central Florida. Intercollegiate athletics has become an integral part of student life on campus and contributes to the continued excellence of LSSC. The program offers scholarships to local student-athletes who have excelled academically and athletically during their high school careers. These scholarships are based upon financial need, scholastic aptitude and athletic excellence. We invite you to share in our vision through your support of the LSSC Athletic Program.

IGTAY Scholarships For Our Future Become a charter member of the Lake-Sumter State College Athletic Department’s IGTAY (I give ten a year)!   The Purpose of IGTAY is to provide annual financial support to the athletic department at Lake-Sumter State College, and to assist in providing athletic scholarships to our student-athletes. This organization will play a major role in ensuring that all of our athletic teams are given the maximum amount of scholarships offered by the NJCAA.  IGTAY can be a key fundraiser for building and maintaining athletic facilities. It can also provide opportunities for program growth, by providing funding for the addition of new sports teams. The goal of IGTAY is to establish a permanent endowment for the Lake-Sumter State College athletic program in the future.  For only $10.00, you can become a Charter Member of this group!  All Donors receive a 2011-2012 window sticker!     IGTAY.pdf
