LSSC Volleyball Players recognized

The Mid-Florida Conference has selected 3 LakeHawks for the All-Conference Teams. Sophmore middle blocker Brittany Mullee was selected 1st Team and Sophmore libero Jesse Collins with Freshman setter Hannah Luedtke were selected to the 2nd Team.

Brittany Mullee for the majority of the season was the nation's leader in solo blocks. She also was the team leader in hitting percentage and 2nd on the team for kills per set. Libero Jess Collins was also nationaly ranked in the top ten for digs per set (6th) and total digs (6th). Setter Hannah Luedtke led the team with 829 total assists with 7.68 assists per set.  

LSSC Volleyball notches 3 wins

On Saturday September 1, the Lake-Sumter Volleyball team picked up wins against Gulf Coast State College and Indian River State College. In the first match versus Gulf Coast the Lady Lakers won with the scores of 25-19, 21-25, 25-10, and 25-20. Sophomores Brittany Mullee and Mandi McDade led the Lakers with 16 kills apiece. Setter Hannah Leudtke tallied 41 assists along with 10 digs for the match. On the defensive end McDade collected 17 digs adding to the effort So. Libero Jesse Collins garnered 26 digs of her own.  

In the second match versus Indian River State College, the Lakers defeated IRSC with the scores of 25-23, 25-20,25-20. McDade led the Lakers in hitting with 10 kills with Mullee adding 8 of her own. Mullee also was a defensive force at the net scoring 6 total blocks for the match. Jesse Collins collected 18 digs for the match and Equita Sayles chipping in 9.

On Thursday August 30 the Lakers took on Florida Christian College, the LSCC won the match with the scores of 25-14, 25-11, 25-19. 

The Lakers are back in action on September 4th taking on Florida College at 7 pm in Tampa. Then they hit the road again first on September 6th at Pensacola State College at 7 pm (EST). On Friday and Saturday they will be in Panama City, FL participating in the Gulf Coast State College Volleyball Tournament.
