College Level Academic Skills Test (CLAST)
The College-Level Academic Skills Test (CLAST) is a statewide achievement test of basic college-level communications and mathematics skills. The FL Department of Education has created a brochure: Questions and Answers about the CLAST. The CLAST is a graduation requirement for all students who plan to complete the Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for CLAST students must have successfully completed a minimum of 18 credits of college level work including ENC 1101 and at least one math course at the college level with course prefixes of MAC or MGF. To be considered as completed successfully, these English and Math courses must be completed with a minimum grade of C.
Students with a disability may request accommodations to take the CLAST. All requests must have appropriate documentation on file with the Office of Student Disabilities.
REGISTRATION: CLAST Registration Form
All students are required to register for either the CLAST Test or CLAST Exemption, if qualified, once the eligibility requirements have been met. CLAST registration forms are available online and in Student Services on all three campuses.
The test is given once a semester on the Leesburg Campus. Students must apply to take the test by the registration deadline.

PASSING SCORES
Scores on CLAST, which must be attained to receive the Associate in Arts degree
and to enter the upper division (junior year) of a state university in Florida, have been set as follows:
Mathematics 295
Reading 295
English language 295
Essay 6
RETAKE PROCEDURE
It should be noted that failure to achieve these scores does not end students’ chances for continuing their education but identifies the deficient area(s) that will require further study to improve scores on a subsequent test. Students may retake any subtest of the CLAST for which they did not have a passing score. Students must apply to retest by the registration deadline.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Additional information may be found on the Florida Department of Education website.
Students who miss the opportunity to take the Mathematics, Reading, or English Language sections at LSCC during their last semester in which they intend to graduate can make an appointment with a LSCC advisor to discuss the possibility of taking these tests at an alternative site on a computer. Note: The Essay is not offered in this format. For further information and a list Florida test sites, please review the below information:
