Lake-Sumter Community College to Honor Graduates

Leesburg, FL - Two hundred and seventy-seven graduates will be receiving their diplomas from Lake-Sumter Community College on May 10th. The College's 39th Annual Commencement Ceremony will take place in the Everett A. Kelly Convocation Center at 7 pm. To commemorate LSCC's 40th Anniversary, one of this year's speakers will be Library Specialist Suzanne Schaffer, a member of the College's first graduating class of 1964 and a 30-year LSCC employee.Commencement speaker will be Shannon Elswick, Vice President of Orlando Regional Health Care Community Hospitals.

The public is also invited to the 19th Annual Nurses Pinning Ceremony to be held on May 9th, also at 7 pm, in the Convocation Center. Fifty-four nurses will be recognized during this year's ceremony, featuring guest speaker Charlotte Wigel, ARNP, MSN. A 1994 graduate of LSCC's Nursing School, Ms. Wigel is a nurse practitioner with Primecare of Lake County.
