Lake-Sumter Community College Students to Participate in Model U.S. Senate

Leesburg, FL - Three Lake-Sumter Community College students will be among 100 college students attending the 32nd Annual Model U.S. Senate to be held March 21 through 23, at Stetson University. During the mock legislative sessions, students will argue the opinions of the senators they were assigned. LSCC student Jonathan Boudreau will portray Phil Gramm (R-Tx); Aaron Kenna will present George Voinovich's (R-Ohio) views; and Peter McCumber will assume the role of Charles Schumer (D-NY). The students will debate issues such as the merits of the federal governments economic stimulus package, and grapple with numerous dilemmas present in the United States today.
