Lake-Sumter Community College Presented Grant

Dr. Charles Mojock, LSCC President; Jon Simpson, LSCC District Board of Trustees Chairman; Jerry Miller, Florida Powers Manager of Community Relations; and Rosanne Brandeburg, LSCC Foundation Executive Director.

LEESBURG - Florida Power, a Progress Energy Company, made a presentation of a $15,000 check to Lake-Sumter Community College during its January 15th District Board of Trustees meeting. Florida Power awarded the grant in support of LSCCs new Electrical Distribution Technology program offered at LSCCs Sumter Campus. The Associate in Applied Science degree and certificate program, will provide lineman education in both the classroom and on a outdoor training area. The new program was initiated through partnerships with Sumter Electric Cooperative, and the cities of Leesburg, Mount Dora and Bushnell.
