Lake-Sumter Community College To Host Regional Academic Competition

LEESBURG - Lake-Sumter Community Colleges Leesburg Campus will be hosting the East Central Regional Brain Bowl Competition next Friday (February 7), in its Health Sciences Center. Teams from Brevard, Central Florida, Florida Community College at Jacksonville, Lake-Sumter and Seminole community colleges will be participating. LSCCs team consists of Team Captain Terri Whitehead, Delrose Tobie, Krystal Bedard and Tim Welton. The public is invited to the matches, which will last from 9 am to approximately 1pm.

The purpose of Brain Bowl is to stimulate students both academically and socially, as they compete against teams from other Florida community colleges and universities throughout the year. Team tryouts are held each fall, where members are selected for their knowledge in four disciplines...humanities, math, natural science and social science.
