In the News... Lake-Sumter Community College Business Assistance Center Receives $10,000 Contribution
LEESBURG - Lake-Sumter Community Colleges Business Assistance Center (BAC) was presented a $10,000 check by Workforce Central Florida, during its Advisory Committee meeting on May 29. BAC Manager Ken Bragg says the contribution will be added to those of the Sumter County Industrial Development Authority and the Lake County Board of County Commissioners to support the development of the colleges new Center. Located on LSCCs Leesburg Campus, along with the colleges other Workforce Development Programs, the Business Assistance Centers goal is to facilitate services and resources to help new and existing businesses with permitting, impact fees, licensing, start-up information, developing business plans, financing information, marketing, inventory control, OSHA, HR, management, supervision, cash flow, tax reporting, staffing, and more. Another goal is to provide training and seminars to assist new and existing businesses...all in a central location. SCORE (Senior Corps of Retired Executives) is the major source for business counseling, while LSCCs Corporate Training and Continuing Education offices serve as an integral part of the training services.
