In the News... Lake-Sumter Community College Continues Its Fun and Educational Kids College LEESBURG - LSCCs Leesburg Campus starts its second two-week session of Kids College on June 16. The popular Kids College offers many fun and educational courses designed for students entering the 2nd through 7th grades (ages 7 to 12), with a selection to fit any interest...theater, crafts, sports, science, computers, magic and much more. Children can enroll for full day, 9 am until 4 pm, or half- day sessions, 9 am until 12:15 pm or 12:45 until 4 pm. Kids bring their own lunches to the full day camps. Late care is available from 4 until 5:15 pm. Two-week camps will also be held on the South Lake Campus, June 30 through July 10, and again on July 14 through 24. LSCC introduces its Villages Charter Middle School Kids College this year, to be held in Lady Lake June 30 through July 10. Another creative LSCC camp, offered through the Continuing Education office, is the Young Writers' Camp, held June 30 through July 10. Offered during eight half-day sessions, from 1:30 until 4:45 pm, the annual Leesburg Campus camp enhances the skills of budding young 4th through 7th grade authors and poets. Student-to-teacher ratio is low, which allows for great interaction between the students and the experienced instructors, so register early by calling 352-365-3556. |
