Lake-Sumter Community College to Host Music Camp

The Central Florida Youth Orchestra will sponsor its Sounds of Summer Instrumental Music Camp on Lake-Sumter Community Colleges Leesburg Campus starting July 7 and continuing through July 18. Geared to all levels of expertise, the Camp provides young musicians between the ages of six to 19 the opportunity to play a string instrument for the first time, or for more-experienced musicians to polish their talents. Beginning students can enroll in violin, viola, cello and bass. Students with previous training can hone their string, woodwind, brass and percussion skills. Campers can enroll in either one-week or two-week sessions. Each weekly session will culminate with a concert performance for family and friends. Classes will run Mondays through Thursdays, from 9 am until 1:30 pm, on LSCCs Leesburg Campus and Fridays in Leesburgs Cultural Arts Building in Venetian Gardens.
