In the News... Press Release Lake-Sumter Community College's Associate in Arts Degree Prepares Students for Four-Year Programs LEESBURG - Two of Lake-Sumter Community College's three summer terms will start May 6. So, now is the time to pick up a schedule, or visit the LSCC website at www.lscc.cc.fl.us, to see the variety of educational programs offered. LSCC is extremely proud of its reputation for producing outstanding graduates. Its Associate in Arts degree provides the first two years toward a four-year degree and guarantees acceptance into a state university. This is a valuable benefit, considering the limits schools are putting on freshmen enrollments. LSCC transfer students have among the highest GPAs of students graduating from four-year universities. LSCCs A.A. degree students also consistently place in the top ten percent, among all community college and university students, in passing the CLAST exam on the first attempt. Online registration for new students starts March 31. Current students can register early, depending on their earned credit hours. New students, or those who have not taken a class in over a year, need to apply in person at any LSCC campus at least 48 hours prior to registering. Staff-assisted registration is available at the Admissions Offices of the Leesburg, South Lake and Sumter Campuses, Mondays through Fridays, from 8 am until 4:30 pm. Summer A term starts May 6 and continues through June 24; Summer A Extended term, May 6 through August 14; and Summer B term, June 26 through August 13. Summer Schedules are also available at all Lake and Sumter County Winn Dixie stores, Clermont's Kash 'n Karry, city chambers of commerce and libraries, and the Lake-Square Mall (kiosk near theaters).
