In the News... Lake-Sumter Community College To Rededicate Student Services Building
The Student Services Building was originally constructed in 1986, and because of the many departments housed under its roof, was dedicated as the Multi-Purpose Building (MPB). Over the last few years, however, LSCCs has seen such an increase in its student enrollment that expansion of student service facilities was deemed necessary. When the Nursing School moved from the MPB into its new Health Sciences Center in December of 2001, it provided the opportunity for the expansion of such offices as: admissions, advising, cashiers, deans, financial aid, student activities and testing, as well as consolidating these services under one roof. The facility, therefore has been more specifically renamed the Student Services Building (SSB). LSCCs Continuing Education, Computer Institute and Corporate Training departments also have expanded their SSB offices. The new facility is ready just in time for Summer Registration. Current LSCC students may start registering online now, depending on their earned credit hours, while new students can register starting March 31. Summer Schedules for Terms A, A Extended and B are available online at www.lscc.cc.fl.us, or at any LSCC campus. New students need to apply in person at LSCCs Leesburg, South Lake or Sumter Campuses for summer classes that start May 6. For more information call 323-3665 or 365-3573. |
