Lake-Sumter Community College to Offer Certified Nursing Assistant Course

Leesburg - Lake-Sumter Community College's Continuing Education office will offer a Certified Nursing Assistant course from June 4 through July 17 on LSCCs Leesburg Campus. The class will meet Mondays through Thursdays, from 5:30 to 9:30 pm, and Saturdays, from 8 am until 5 pm. The cost is $345. Students are required to submit results of a Tuberculosis (PPD) test prior to the first class. For registration information call 352-365-3556.

The CNA curriculum includes classroom and practical training in such topics as: anatomy and physiology, age-related changes in the body, step-by-step procedures for care giving, nursing care guidelines, and vocational skills. Students will also have the opportunity to learn CPR, AIDS education, basic computer training, and domestic violence education. Upon completing and passing the CNA course, students will be eligible to take the state certification exam.
