Sumter County Youngsters Get a Free Ride to Lake-Sumter Community College's Fun and Educational Kids' College

Kids' College 2002 Computer Graphics Students LEESBURG - A younger group of students will be taking classes on Lake-Sumter Community College campuses this summer, when LSCC hosts its popular Kids' College. A free shuttle service to the Leesburg Campus Kids College is provided free of charge for Sumter County students, between the ages of 7 to 12 years (entering the 2nd through 7th grades). Children have the opportunity to choose from 46 fun and educational classes such as: dance, crafts, sports, science, computers, magic and much more. The first 8-day session starts June 2 and continues through June 12. The second session runs June 16 through June 26. Both are held from 12:45 until 4 pm. Students using the free shuttle can take three afternoon classes the first two weeks and three more if they enroll for the second two weeks. The cost of both sessions (16 days) is only $132. A single, 8-day session is $66. Classes fill up quickly, so call 568-0001 or 352-365-3556 to register or to have a brochure mailed to you. The free transportation from the following sites is provided by the Sumter County School Board through its Department of Transportation.

South Sumter High School - 5:15 pm
Webster Elementary School - 5:45 pm

Kids' College 2002 Ceramics Students Sumter students are welcome to attend other sessions that do not include transportation. Leesburgs morning classes will be held during the same dates as above, from 9 am until 12:15 pm. Morning and afternoon sessions will also be held at the Villages Charter Middle School, a new site this year, from June 30 through July 10; and LSCC's South Lake Campus, from June 30 through July 10 and again on July 14 through 24.
