Lake-Sumter Community College's Educational Talent Search To Offer Fun and Educational Summer Tour LEESBURG - Lake-Sumter Community College's Educational Talent Search (ETS) program is sponsoring its 2003 Summer Tour through the month of June. Students from eleven Lake and Sumter County middle and high schools participate in the annual event, created to give ETS students the opportunity to enjoy different educational and cultural activities. The ETS program is designed for students recognized for their academic potential, with the objective of encouraging them to complete their secondary education and continue to the post-secondary level. Over 600 Lake and Sumter County middle and high school students participate in LSCC's full-time ETS program which sponsors numerous motivational activities throughout the year. Over 100 seventh through twelfth grade students participated in last years Summer Tour and a large group is again expected. The activities will kick-off with a family picnic in Clermonts Waterfront Part on June 11 for the 7th through 9th graders, then again on June 19 for the 10th through 12 graders. Self-enrichment classes will be held on LSCC's South Lake and Sumter campuses, with field trips to St. Leo University and the University of South Florida for the older students, and to Splendid China for the middle school students. Participants who complete the program will be treated to a fun trip to Islands of Adventure on June 30th. All of the activities are free to LSCCs Educational Talent Search members.
