Lake-Sumter Community College Offers Classes to Stimulate the Mind and Your Creativity

LEESBURG - Several unique non-credit courses will be offered through Lake-Sumter Community Colleges Continuing Education office. Students of all ages will enjoy these fun and educational topics.

The whys and hows of government actions and will be examined during American Foreign Policy. This class will be offered on the Leesburg Campus on Wednesdays, starting January 28 and continuing through March 3, from 4 until 6 pm. It will be offered on the South Lake Campus on Fridays, beginning January 30 through March 5, from 1:30 until 3:30 pm. Cost of the course is $59.

Discover the different genres of short stories and enhance your own writing skills during the Leesburg Campus Exploring Short Stories class, which will be offered on Wednesdays, starting January 28 and continuing through March 3, from 4:30 until 6:30 pm, at a cost of $50. Practice the art of writing your own short stories during LSCCs Sumter Campus Creative Writing course, to be held on Mondays, January 26 and through March 1, from 2 until 4 pm. Courses fee is $63.

Beginning to advanced artists will develop their intellectual, visual and technical drawing and painting skills in Mixed Media. This class will be offered Mondays, January 26 through March 1, 2-5 pm, on the Leesburg Campus. Cost is $63.

Studying the history, stories and styles of Italian Opera and composers such as Verdi, Rossini and Puccini, will develop a greater understanding and enjoyment of these classics. Meeting days are Tuesdays, beginning January 27 through March 2, on the Leesburg Campus and Thursdays, January 29 through March 4, on the South Lake Campus. Times for both classes are 4 until 5:30 pm and the cost is $43.

LSCCs Sumter Campus will offer Beginning Conversational Spanish, Level 1, to meet on Tuesdays, from January 27 through March 23, 6:30 until 8:15 pm. Course work will cover the basics to carry on simple everyday conversations. Cost of the class is $56.
