In the News... Lake-Sumter Community Colleges Business Assistance Center Receives SunTrust Donation
The collection of materials provides information on a variety of specific businesses such as: bed and breakfast, child care, consulting, event planning, hair salon, lawn care, restaurant and wholesale distribution, as well as general topics. These entrepreneurial references will enhance services to clients and students, as the LSCC expands its community services in economic development, corporate training and assistance to business owners, operators and employees, said Dr. Mojock upon accepting SunTrusts check. The Business Assistance Center, created through a partnership between the college and the Lake County Board of County Commissioners, the Sumter County Economic Development Council and the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE), also provides services and resources in marketing, financing, franchising, licensing, taxes, and much more. The Center is located on LSCCs Leesburg Campus and is open Mondays through Fridays, from 8 am until 4:30 pm, and weekends by appointment. Call 365-3579 for more information. |
LEESBURG - Over 50 volumes of business start-up guides, reference materials and business books were purchased for Lake-Sumter Community Colleges Business Assistance Center (BAC) through of a generous donation by SunTrust. Bank President Brad White presented a $2,000 check to LSCC President Dr. Charles Mojock on January 15. The contribution will enable the BAC to initiate a library and reference center to be used, free of charge, by Lake and Sumter County business owners and those thinking of starting their own business.
