Lake-Sumter Community College to Host Regional Brain Bowl Tourney LEESBURG Teams from seven community colleges will test their mental skills on February 6, when Lake-Sumter Community College hosts the annual East Central Regional Brain Bowl Competition. The tournament will take place in the Leesburg Campus Health Sciences Center, starting at 9 am. The public is welcome to attend. Competitors will include students from Brevard Community College, Central Florida Community College, Florida Community College at Jacksonville, Lake-Sumter Community College, Santa Fe Community College, Seminole Community College and South Florida Community College. LSCCs Brain Bowl members competing in the tournament are: Krystal Bedard, Tim Welton (team captain), Kathy Montaudo and Delrose Tobie. The purpose of Brain Bowl is to stimulate students both academically and socially, and encourage scholarly excellence. The LSCC Brain Bowl team not only competes in regional academic competitions, but also state and U.S. Southern Region tourneys as well.
