Lake-Sumter Community College South Lake Campus Offers Courses for the Workplace and Home

LEESBURG - Whether you are a novice or experienced supervisor, Lake-Sumter Community Colleges First Line Supervision course will offer real-world guidance on the best ways to orient, train and coach employees. Part of LSCCs American Management Association certification program, the South Lake Campus course starts July 14 and meets on consecutive Wednesdays through August 11, from 5:30 until 8:30 pm. Using self-assessments, action plans and relevant work examples, the classes will explain how to apply crucial supervisory skills and develop a leadership style. These skills can help create a positive workplace environment and build a top-performing team. Cost of the course is $187. Call 365-3556 to register.

LSCCs Microsoft Office Series continues on the South Lake Campus with Excel Level 3, on July 20, from 9 am until 4 pm. This advanced course introduces using a worksheet as a database, importing and exporting data, and creating charts. Cost of this one-day class is $75. Word, Level 3, covers advanced features such as merging mailing labels and directories, and sorting table data. This class will meet on July 27 from 9 am until 4 pm, at a cost of $75. Basic skills of working with Office Assistant, Calendar and Outlook messaging will be covered during Outlook, Level 1, on July 13, from 9 am until 4 pm. Cost is $75.

Learn how to make pages interesting, professional and well-organized during Publisher, Level 1, to be offered on July 6 from 9 am until 4 pm, at a cost of $48. Digital Cameras, Scanners and Graphics will help you know what to look for in buying equipment, as well as how to transfer images to your computer, and print and send attachments over the Internet. This class meets for three Thursdays, from July 15 through 29, 1:30 until 4:30 pm, and costs $48. Internet and E-Mail Basics introduces skills necessary for getting started with Internet Explorer, as well as how to send, receive, reply and manage emails messages.
