Lake-Sumter Community Colleges South Lake Campus Courses Develop Skills for the Workplace and Everyday Life LEESBURG - Lake-Sumter Community Colleges Corporate and Community Development office will offer a wide range of courses that provide both professional and personal development. Become a more dynamic marketing professional by understanding the entire marketing management process. Create your own marketing strategy and prepare an effective marketing plan during Fundamentals of Marketing. Learn to collect data, evaluate e-commerce as a product distribution channel, and to sell your services and products. Classes meet on three consecutive Wednesdays, April 14 through 28, from 5:30 until 8:30 pm. Cost of the course is $147. Aids Education is a general course for health care workers and covers epidemiology testing, infection control and legal issues. It also meets the AIDS course requirements for nurses, beauticians and barbers, and is open to the general public. The one-night class meets on Monday, April 19, from 5:30 until 9:30 pm. Cost is $11. Avoiding Medication Errors uses a variety of teaching techniques to review the common areas and practices leading to medication errors. Class will meet Monday, April 12, from 7:30 until 9:30 pm. Cost is $15. Communicating with the Elderly teaches the skills to have open, honest and positive communications with your elderly patients and clients. Class meets on Monday, April 12 from 6:30 until 7:30 pm. Cost is $10. The four-hour First Aid course covers general principles, as well as medical, injury and environmental emergencies. Know how to handle these situations in the first critical minutes before professional help arrives. The class meets Monday, April 12, from 5:30 until 9:30 pm and costs $31. Develop professional presentations during Web Page Creation, on Friday April 16 and PowerPoint, Level 2, on Friday, April 23. Both classes meet from 9 am until 4 pm and cost $36 each. Publisher, Level 1, teaches you to create materials that look interesting, professional and well organized. Class will meet on Friday, April 30 from 8:30 am until 5:30 pm and costs $48. Internet and E-Mail Basics introduces the basic skills necessary for getting started with Internet Explorer and searching the Internet. Class meets on Wednesdays, April 21 and 28, from 9 am until 12 noon. Cost is $36. Call or 365-3556 or 243-5722 to register.
