Lake-Sumter Community College Health Education Courses For the Workplace or the Home

LEESBURG - First Aid is a four-hour course containing four modules...general principles, medical emergencies, injury emergencies and environmental emergencies. Learn how to deal with these situations in the first critical minutes before professional help arrives. The class will meet on the Leesburg Campus on Monday, May 17, from 5:30 until 9:30 pm. Cost is $31.

Survival Skills for CNAs, will help reduce job stress by teaching the student how to learn more about the illness that affects the patient and his/her family. The one-hour class will meet Monday, May 17, on the Leesburg Campus, from 3:30 until 4:30 pm. Cost is $10.

Domestic Violence...how to recognize it, learn what to do and what to say to help. The Leesburg Campus class will meet on Tuesday, May 18, from 5:30 until 7:30 pm. Cost is $11.

AIDS Education is a general AIDS course for health care workers covering epidemiology testing, infection control and legal issues. It meets the AIDS course requirements for nurses, beauticians and barbers, but is also open to the general public. Four contact hours will be awarded. The class meets Monday, May 24, on the Leesburg Campus between 5:30 and 9:30 pm. Cost is $11.
