In the News... Lake-Sumter Community College Has A Reputation for Excellence LEESBURG - Did you know that Lake-Sumter Community Colleges Associate in Arts (A.A.) graduates consistently have the highest grade point averages among state university students earning their four-year degrees? Plus, an LSCC A.A. degree not only completes the first two years toward a four-year degree, but also guarantees acceptance into the Florida university system. This is particularly important now that universities are limiting their enrollments. Some A.A. degrees go even further in providing the foundation for specific bachelors degrees. LSCCs A.A. degree with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education transfers directly into that university program, while another meets the general core requirements for an education degree. A unique pre-engineering A.A. degree includes curriculum that allows LSCC graduates to transfer directly into the University of Florida College of Engineering. Partnerships with UCF and St. Leo University even offer students several opportunities to earn four-year degrees on an LSCC campus. LSCC also offers two-year Associate in Science and Applied Science degrees and numerous vocational certificates, which can give you the training to start a new career or to enhance current workplace skills. Spring classes start January 5, so now is the time to start a great education close to home. Go online or pick up a Spring Schedule at LSCCs campuses, city libraries and chambers of commerce, or Winn Dixie stores. Spring term continues through May 2, 2005.
