In the News... Lake-Sumter Community College Students Award Scholarships LEESBURG - Each year, Lake-Sumter Community College retiree Dr. Joseph Rhile gives two scholarships in memory of his first wife Elizabeth Kline Rhile. Dr. Rhile was the original accounting instructor at LSCC...in the early 1960s, when it was located on campus of Leesburg High School. At that time, most of the instructors were male, so faculty wives formed a group called the Dames Club, and Mrs. Elizabeth Rhile was its second president . It is in her honor that Dr. Rhile has awarded scholarships over the last 20 years. Current Accounting Instructor Bonnie Holloway selects two students each year based on their excellent performance in Financial Accounting. This years $750 Elizabeth Rhile Accounting Scholarship recipients are Karen Howard and Candice McRoy.
