In the News... Lake-Sumter Community College Site of Regional Brain Bowl Competition LEESBURG - Lake-Sumter Community College was
the host and one of the participants during Fridays (Feb. 4) Regional Community
College Brain Bowl Tournament. Forty-six students made up seven teams from
Brevard Community College, Central Florida Community College (CFCC), Florida
Community College at Jacksonville and Seminole Community College. By using a
round-robin format each team has the opportunity to face off against each of the
other teams. Tournament questions cover a broad range of disciplines such as:
natural science, social science, humanities and math. The tourney ended with
Seminole Community College earning first-place honors and CFCC second. LSCCs
third place finish will give the team an opportunity to be a wild-card entry
into the state competition in March. LSCCs Glenn Jones was one of only four
students selected for the tournament's All-Star High Scorers Team.
