Health Care Workers Will Benefit from Lake-Sumter Community College Classes

LEESBURG - Whether you want to earn a health care professional certification or merely gain practical knowledge on caring for a loved one, Lake-Sumter Community Colleges health care courses will help you with your goal. To register for these Leesburg Campus classes, call LSCC's Corporate and Community Services office at 365-3556.

Home Health Aide...Jan. 14-22, Fridays, 5:309:30 pm; Saturdays, 8 am2 pm

For the certified nursing assistant, this 20-hour supplemental course is required to work as a home health aide. The course includes the role of the aide in the home, family differences, food and household management, as well as other related topics pertinent to home health services.

Certified Nursing Assistant...Mondays through Fridays, Jan. 31March 3, 9 am-3 pm

This course includes 120 hours of classroom and practical training with academic remediation as needed. Students will be eligible to take the state exam after completing and passing the course.

Domestic Violence...Monday, Jan. 31, 13 pm

What do abused persons look like and how would you know when it is abuse? Learn what to do and what to say to help these individuals. The failure to identify and help abusers and victims hurts our attempt to diminish and prevent this serious and widespread problem. Upon completion of the course, two contact hours will be awarded.
