Lake-Sumter Community College Continues Its Fun
and Educational Kids College
LEESBURG - Lake-Sumter Community College starts the second two-week session of
its popular Kids College on June 23. The Leesburg Campus campers gather
Mondays through Thursdays until June 30. Kids College offers many fun and
educational courses designed for students entering the 2nd through 7th grades
(ages 7 to 12), with a selection to fit any interest...theatre, crafts, sports,
science, computers, magic, Harry Potter and much more. Children can enroll for
full day, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., or half-day sessions, 9 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. or
12:45 until 4 p.m. Kids bring their own lunches to the full day camps. Late care
is available from 4 until 5:15 p.m. Cost for each two-week session is: $66 for
eight half days or $132 for eight full days. Some camps have a lab or materials
fee.
Two two-week camps will also be held on the South Lake Campus, Mondays through
Thursdays, July 5 through July 14, and again on July 18 through 28. The same
time schedule and fees apply. Classes fill up quickly, so call 365-3556 to
register for any or all of the camps.
The Central Florida Youth Orchestras annual Sounds of Summer Music Camp
will be held on Lake-Sumter Community Colleges Leesburg Campus, Mondays through
Fridays, July 11 through July 22, for students between the ages of 5 to 22.
Beginning students of the violin, viola, cello and bass can enroll in the 9 a.m.
to 12 p.m. camp, while more advanced musicians currently playing strings,
woodwinds, brass and percussion attend from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Students are
required to have their own instruments. For more information on this musical
