Lake-Sumter Community College Introduces New Summer Mini-mester LEESBURG - Lake-Sumter Community College has created a special eight-week mini-mester, providing 2005 high school graduates and dual-enrollment students additional opportunities to enroll in summer college courses. Starting May 31 and continuing through July 27, mini-mester classes include: Acting I and II; American Sign Language; College Composition I; College Success Skills; Composition: Argumentation; Composition: Literature; Developmental Arithmetic with Algebra & Study Skills; Directing I; Elementary, Intermediate and Precalculus Algebra; Introduction to Business; Microcomputer Applications; Teambuilding & Communication Skills; Technology for Educators; Trigonometry; and U.S. History to 1877. It is not only a convenient way for recent high school graduates to get a jump on their college career, but also for current college students to pick up some extra credits. In addition to the eight-week series, other mini-mesters, as well as three regular semesters, are offered through the summer. Semester A Extended, runs May 5 through August 11; Semester A, May 5 through June 23; and Semester B, June 27 through August 15. Classes will be offered on all three LSCC campuses, but curriculum does vary. Pick up a Summer Schedule or view it online at: www.lscc.edu, for classes, dates and locations. New students can register online for any of
the Summer Term semesters starting April 11, but need to apply in person at
least 48 hours prior. Current students with 45+ credit hours can register online
starting March 28, while those with zero to 44 credit hours can enroll stating
