Home Health Aide, Domestic Violence and First Aid Classes Offer Practical Training at Lake-Sumter Community College LEESBURG - Whether you are in the profession of caring for people or just want the knowledge in case of emergencies, Lake-Sumter Community Colleges upcoming health courses provide invaluable education. Certified Nursing Assistants who work as Home Health Aides are required to take this 20-hour supplemental course. Class topics include the role of the aide in the home, dealing with family differences, food and household management, and other pertinent home health services topics. Classes meet Fridays, November 5 and 12, from 5:30 until 9:30 pm and Saturdays, November 6 and 13, from 8 am until 2 pm. Cost of the course is $70. Approximately over half of American families have experienced violence in their households. Learn what to look for and how to help in LSCCs Domestic Violence course. The two-hour class will meet on Thursday, November 11, from 5:30 until 7:30 pm. Cost is $16. Students will learn general principles of First Aid, as well as how to manage medical, injury and environment emergencies. The first minutes of an illness or accident are critical. Learn what you can do before professional help arrives. The one-evening class meets on Thursday, November 18, from 5:30 until 9:30 pm. Cost of the course is $31.
