Certified Nursing Assistant Course Will be Offered at Lake-Sumter Community Colleges Leesburg Campus

LEESBURG - Students who wish to sit for the states Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) exam and practicum will want to enroll in LSCCs CNA series starting November 29. The 120-hour course will meet Mondays through Fridays, from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm, through January 27. Classes will be held on LSCCs Leesburg Campus and will cover subjects such as: anatomy and physiology, age-related body changes and common abnormalities, step-by-step procedures for care giving, and other employability skills. Students successfully completing this course will be eligible to take the Florida certification exam. Cost of the course, manual and insurance is $429. Students must submit results of a tuberculosis (PPD) test at the first class.

Enrollment in several of the required classes for the CNA course is open to other students and area residents as well. They are:

CPR - Saturday, December 11, 8 am-2 pm, $26
First Aid - Saturday, December 4, 9 am-1 pm, $31
Computer Training - Monday, December 13, 3-7 pm, $16
AIDS Education - Friday, December 3, 1-5 pm, $16
Domestic Violence -Monday, December 6, 3-5 pm, $16
