PIRATES AND JAZZ MAKE IT A MUSICAL APRIL AT LAKE-SUMTER COMMUNITY COLLEGE
LEESBURG (April 18, 2006) - The Lake-Sumter Community College Jazz Ensemble will
present a free concert on Tuesday, April 25, at 7:30 p.m., in the Leesburg
Campus Paul P. Williams Fine Arts Center Auditorium. The talented eight-piece
group, comprised of students musicians and director Victor Payana, will perform
on saxophones, trumpets, trombone, piano, bass and drums. The Ensembles
eclectic program will range from traditional jazz favorites to contemporary and
original arrangements.
The two final performances of Lake-Sumter Community Colleges Pirates of
Penzance will be presented Friday and Saturday, April 28 and 29. Produced by the
colleges Theatre Arts Society, and directed by Instructor Gary Rogers, this
timeless Gilbert and Sullivan comic operetta features delightful student
performances, accompanied by a live orchestra. Show times are 7:30 p.m. and
tickets are available at the door of the Leesburg Campus Fine Arts Center
Auditorium. Cost is only $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and $3 for children. LSCC
students and their families are free. Doors open hour prior to show time. For
