Pirates of Penzance to Swashbuckle Its Way onto Lake-Sumter Community
Colleges Stage
LEESBURG (April 6, 2006) - Damsels in distress, spirited pirates, dashing
heroes, and of course, a Major General; all delightful characters from Gilbert
and Sullivans timeless classic Pirates of Penzance. Lake-Sumter Community
Colleges Theatre Arts Society will present this rarely-produced comic operetta
during evening performances on April 20, 21, 22, and again on April 28 and 29 at
7:30 p.m.; with a 2:30 p.m. Sunday matinee on April 23.
The talented student cast, under the direction of Theatre Instructor Gary
Rogers, will perform the famous lyrical numbers to the accompaniment of a live
six-piece orchestra. Tickets are only $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and $3 for
children. LSCC students and their families are free. Tickets will be available
at the door, on a first-come basis, at the Paul P. Williams Fine Arts Center
Auditorium, on LSCCs Leesburg Campus. Doors open hour prior to show time. For
