Business Assistance Center Debuts Website
LEESBURG - Thinking of starting a new business or looking for ways to improve an
existing one? The Business Assistance Center, at Lake-Sumter Community Colleges
Leesburg Campus, has created a new website at www.lscc.edu/bac. Serving as an
information resource for Lake and Sumter County entrepreneurs,
its portal design provides an easy-to-navigate, question-and-answer format with
links to national, state and local business sites.
This is the first of a three-phase website project which will offer a unique
business-to-business link between Lake and Sumter counties. Phase II will
provide a listing and description of the services that businesses require
including: financing information from the various lending institutions,
attorneys and their specialties, commercial real estate information, CPAs,
marketing firms, consultants and much more. Phase III will provide a one-stop
listing of seminars and classes, a newsletter, and information on business
events within the two-county area. The BACs goal is to facilitate a hub that
electronically provides information and resources to help businesses prosper.
This February and March, the Business Assistance Center is partnering with the
City of Leesburg to provide a series of workshops which support the USDA Rural
Business Development Program. The free sessions will be funded by the
Minority/Women Business Enterprise (The Alliance),
which provides loans to small and emerging businesses with less than 20
employees and less than $1 million in gross annual revenues. Please call the
Business Assistance Center for further information at 365-3579.
