Business Assistance Center Presents New Series
LEESBURG - (March 10, 2006) - The Business Assistance Center at Lake-Sumter
Community College will introduce the first program of its seven-part series, The
7 Deadly Sins of Business, on April 5. With a goal of providing information
that can be immediately applied to a new or existing business, the series debut
program will discuss The Problem of Not Securing the Proper Funds to Start, Run
or Expand a Business. Guest speakers will include representatives from three
area banks who will talk about their new business loan products and how to
secure the funds to properly capitalize a business. Business Assistance Center
Manager Gary Holstein will also discuss the upcoming micro loan program, a joint
effort of the BAC and SCORE.
A continental breakfast will be available starting at 7 a.m., with the program
beginning at 7:30 a.m. and continuing until 9 a.m., in LSCCs Leesburg Campus
Magnolia Room. The cost is $35 per program for chamber members; $45 for
non-members. The series cost for all seven programs, which runs through July 12,
is $199 for chamber members and $270 for non-members. All of the areas chambers
of commerce are partnering with the BAC on this seminar series, with co-sponsors
the Daily Commercial providing advertising and Sprint sponsoring the food.
Seating is limited, so attendees need to pre-register by calling 365-3579.
Future programs include: Failure to Plan, April 19; Ignoring the Power and
Methods of Marketing, May 3; Not Recognizing that Everyones a Sales Person,
May 17; Failure to Hire for Retention, June 7; Ignoring Area Resources, June
21; and Not Using Technology, July 12.
