Lake-Sumter Community College Recognizes Academics and Service
LEESBURG - On April 28th, Lake-Sumter Community Colleges Student Activities
office hosted its annual Student Award Recognition ceremony to honor students
not only for their academic achievements, but also for their leadership and
service contributions. LSCC faculty nominated students who have excelled in
their primary course of study for the Academic Excellence Awards. The
disciplines and students were: Biology-Kellie Adkins, Business Tech-Dafne Ors
Gonzales, Computers Tech-Mathew Miller, Chemistry-Amy Rouinfar, Chemistry
(Freshman)-Danielle Nemeth, Criminal Justice-Philip Levingston, Health Careers-Payal
Patel, Math-John Hicks, Nursing-Megan Chancellor and Theater Arts-Beth Hudson.
Leadership through Service Awards recipients (photo below) are nominated by
faculty and staff for their roles as student leaders. Those earning this honor
were: Ben Andrews, Brent Balkaran, David Burns, Candice Chenoweth, Joyce Graham,
Latrisha Howell, Beth Hudson, Erica Hughes, Casey Knudsen, Allan Leonor,
Danielle Nemeth, Amy Rouinfar, Jonathan Santos, Danielle Shaw and Prerna Thomas.
Students recognized for their volunteerism and service to other students were:
2005-2006 Ambassadors: Coral Casamasima, Casey Knudsen, Trey Lovelace, Ashley
Newman and Kathlyn Robbins. Diplomats: Alicia Argenziano, Amber Christ, Nancy
Costine, Beth Hudson, Ashley Johnson, Faith Masonheimer, and Daniel Terry.

Danielle Shaw, Allan Leonor, Casey Knudsen, Ben Andrews,
Candice Chenoweth, David Burns, Joyce Graham, Latrisha Howell, Beth Hudson,

All-USA and All-Florida Academic Teams: Danielle Beville (First Team), Benjamin
Abbot, Brent Balkaran, Allan Leonor, Dawn McMahon and Kristin Rieckmann.
