Lake-Sumter Community College Offers a
Musical December
LEESBURG - Nov. 22, 2005 - The Central Florida Youth Orchestra and the
Lake-Sumter Community College Orchestra Ensemble will present their annual
Winter Festival concert on December 2. The performance begins at 7 p.m. and
tickets are only $12 and will be available at the door. Over 70 talented
musicians, from elementary-school age to retirement status, will perform a
variety of instrumental favorites including classical and holiday selections.
The orchestras are under the direction of Jonathan May.
LSCCs Jazz Ensemble will present a performance on December 6 at 7 p.m.,
featuring a different flavor of music..jazz. LSCC Instructor Dr. Peter Arcaro
added his own twist to the concert by creating many of the arrangements for the
well-known jazz standards. Under the direction of Victor Paynao, the
eight-member group will exhibit their talents on brass and woodwind instruments,
as well as guitar, piano and drums. This concert is free.
Both concerts will be held on Lake-Sumter Community Colleges Leesburg Campus,
in the Paul P. Williams Fine Arts Center Auditorium. For additional information
