Lake-Sumter Community College Offers a Musical December

LEESBURG - Nov. 22, 2005 - The Central Florida Youth Orchestra and the Lake-Sumter Community College Orchestra Ensemble will present their annual Winter Festival concert on December 2. The performance begins at 7 p.m. and tickets are only $12 and will be available at the door. Over 70 talented musicians, from elementary-school age to retirement status, will perform a variety of instrumental favorites including classical and holiday selections. The orchestras are under the direction of Jonathan May.

LSCCs Jazz Ensemble will present a performance on December 6 at 7 p.m., featuring a different flavor of music..jazz. LSCC Instructor Dr. Peter Arcaro added his own twist to the concert by creating many of the arrangements for the well-known jazz standards. Under the direction of Victor Paynao, the eight-member group will exhibit their talents on brass and woodwind instruments, as well as guitar, piano and drums. This concert is free.

Both concerts will be held on Lake-Sumter Community Colleges Leesburg Campus, in the Paul P. Williams Fine Arts Center Auditorium. For additional information call 323-3651.
