New Students Need to Apply Now for Lake-Sumter Community
Colleges Spring Term
LEESBURG - It's not too early to think about getting ready for Lake-Sumter
Community Colleges spring classes, even though they dont start until January
5, 2006. Increases in enrollment make it more important than ever to start the
application process early.
Open registration starts on November 21. This is the first opportunity for new
students, or those who have not taken a course in over a year, to register
online. Though registration continues through January 4, the selection of
classes, days and times decrease each day. In order to lock in the desired
schedule, the LSCC staff suggests the following timeline to complete the
admission process: during October, (1) apply for admission; (2) submit
transcripts and other required documents; and (3) take placement tests. Through
October and the first three weeks of November, (4) complete new student
orientation; and (5) meet with an academic advisor. Now you are ready to
register! The spring schedule of classes will be posted online by October 19.
Copies will be available on LSCC campuses by the first of November.
Students interested in financial aid who are determined eligible and have
completed all steps to have their federal and state financial aid awarded by
November 28, may use this aid to pay for spring term fees. Through the
generosity of area residents, organizations and companies, the LSCC Foundation
also awards numerous scholarships. Spring term students must apply for these by
October 31.
All registration information, except for class schedules, is available online
now at: www.lscc.edu. For additional information call: 568-0001 or 352-787-3747.
