Computer and Language Skills Can Help Your Business and
Enrich Your Life
LEESBURG - Lake-Sumter Community College will offer QuickBooks for the first
time on its South Lake Campus. Perfect for business owners, this introductory
QuickBooks class will cover such topics as: entering account opening balances,
setting up inventory, creating and customizing company lists, processing
customer payments, working with bank accounts, entering/paying bills, and
setting up Internet services. QuickBooks, Level 1, will start October 6 and
continue on consecutive Thursdays through November 3, from 6 until 9 p.m. Cost
of the course is $90. QuickBooks, Level 2, will be offered in January. The
second level of Excel will be taught on Thursdays, September 22 and 29, from 6
until 9 p.m., at a cost of $75.
Business owners can also provide better service to their Hispanic customers, as
well as having the satisfaction of learning another language by choosing from
two levels of conversational Spanish. Spanish, Beginning Conversational, will be
offered on Thursdays, October 20 through December 15, from 7:30 until 9:30 p.m.
This introductory class will cover all the basics to carry on simple, useful,
everyday conversations. Cost of the class is $69; the textbook is $20.
Spanish, Continuing Conversational, will enhance your communication skills to
better understand and master the Spanish language. The class meets on Thursdays,
starting October 20 and continues through December Dec. 15, from 5:30 until 7:15
p.m. Cost of the course is $69.
