Security Officer Training Courses to be Offered on Lake-Sumter Community Colleges South Lake Campus

LEESBURG - Lake-Sumter Community College will offer two courses that meet state requirements for those in the security officer profession. Both classes will be offered on LSCCs South Lake Campus, in Clermont. To register call Lake-Sumter Community Colleges Corporate and Community Services at 365-3556.

Security Officer Training - 40 Hour
Monday through Friday, October 24-28, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.
As of July 1, 1989, Florida Statute 493 requires 40 hours of professional training for all Class D license security personnel applicants. This course is designed and approved by the Florida Department of State, Division of Licensing, and meets this requirement. Cost of the course is $151.

Security Officer Training - 16 Hour
Thursday & Friday, October 27 & 28, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.
Effective October 1, 1994, the minimum number of classroom hours required for Class D Security Officer license increased to 40. This course is for those who have only 24 hours and need to complete the additional 16 hours required for renewing their license. Cost of the course is $62.
