Welcome to MAC 1140. Please use this website for test dates (to the right) and to download the documents I mention/use in class. This is a four credit hour course in 7 weeks, which means we will cover a lot material each class meeting. Here are some suggestions to help you succeed in the course:
Come to every class on time and stay until I dismiss the class.
Read the sections I will cover BEFORE I cover it in class. The point of this is to determine:
a) what you already know (from high school or a previous course)
b) what you can learn on your own
c) what you do not understand (formulate questions to ask in class on these topics).
Go over your notes and do homework as soon as possible after each lesson. (This is particularly important in the summer session.)
Form a study group with fellow classmates. You will be surprised how much you can learn from each other.
