OST 1743: please bring a FLASH Drive to DAY ONE of class.

CGS 1530: Micropcomputer Applications will be delivered as Hybrid, which means we will meet  face-to-face for some class sessions and use also Blackboard.  More than 30%, but less than 80% of coursework is completed through the Blackboard learning system online.

I look forward to meeting you in the classroom on Tuesday, January 8th.
We'll go over the course calendar and the specific dates we'll be meeting face to face at that time.

CGS 1530 requires a computer system which meets minimum requirements for Blackboard access. Please visit ELearning at LSSC to make certain that your computer system meets the minimum specifications. Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome are recommended.

To ensure success in this class, it is suggested that students have some computer skills (file management, Windows understanding, etc.) before attempting to take a course such as this in an online/hybrid format. Access to Windows 7 and Windows-based Microsoft Office 2010 (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) will be required to complete assignments throughout this course.

You cannot access Blackboard until the first day of classes, but you may view the syllabus. You must have the course textbook as posted on the syllabus so be sure to acquire it before class begins; not having the required book on day one will not be an acceptable reason for the submission of late work.

Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010 (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) will be necessary to complete assignments and tests throughout this course. This software may be purchased at the school store or at Microsoft’s website with a college email. It is not necessary to purchase software; the Learning Center and school library may be used to complete assignments.
