Stuart Anderson, PHD
Welcome to my LSSC faculty home page! My name is Stuart Anderson. A long time ago, I earned a PhD degree in Elementary Particle Physics from the University of California at Berkeley. At the present time, I am an Adjunct Instructor in the Science Department at LSSC.
My office is in room SM 222, where I can usually be found Mondays and Wednesdays between about 3:00 and 9:00 PM, when I am not teaching. You can reach my office by phone by calling the Leesburg Campus main number, 352-787-3747, and asking for extension 7001. But the best way to reach me is by email at andersos@lssc.edu. This semester, Spring 2013, I am teaching two sections of Astronomy 1002 on Mondays and Wednesdays , the day section (20618) from 4:00 to 5:50 PM, the night section (20619) from 7:00 to 8:50 PM, in room SM 115. A link to the syllabus for this course is provided in Course Syllabus. Links to all documents posted for this course are given in Course Documents. Links to external websites required for use in this course or of general astronomical interest are provided in Astronomy Websites.
I also taught two sections of
Astronomy 1002 last semester, Fall 2012, and in the 2010-2012 academic years. In the 2009–2010 academic year, my first at LSSC (LSCC then), I taught the General Physics sequence and the Physics with Calculus sequence. Prior to that, I taught Physics mainly, but occasionally also Mathematics and Astronomy, at several colleges in the Finger Lakes region of New York and in the San Francisco Bay area of California. I also pursued careers in Software Engineering and in Biomedical Research.
