Gala Auction
Our annual Gala Auction is our premier fundraising event of the year. This event brings many business and civic leaders in Lake and Sumter counties together to help support the mission and work of the Lake-Sumter State College Foundation, Inc. and the proceeds go to benefit student scholarships and programs.
With a different theme each year, this event has been called the “Best Black Tie Event” and “Best Invitation to Wait For” in Lake County as voted by Lake Today readers.

Silent Auction
The evening will include a silent auction. These items may include entertainment, weekend getaways,
theme park tickets, golf packages, tickets to sporting events, sports
memorabilia, restaurant gift certificates, gift certificates for
personal items such as massages, facials, manicures, and hair styling,
household items, jewelry, purses, artwork, gift baskets, children’s
items, and more. Each item donated will be listed in the program along with the name of the business or person who donated, and in the thank you ad that will appear in the Daily Commercial, Daily Sun and Lake Sentinel newspapers following the event.
Live Auction
The Live Auction includes items that range from $500 and higher. This may include once in a lifetime experiences, trips, jewelry, furniture, membership packages, electronics, entertainment, sporting and hunting packages, and artwork just to name a few. Items donated will be listed in the program along with the name of the business or person who donated, and will also receive recognition during the live auction. The donor will also be included in the thank you ad that will appear in the Daily Commercial, Daily Sun and Lake Sentinel newspapers following the event.
