A Message from the President To our new students, whether you are a recent high school graduate just embarking on your college experience or an adult returning to school to acquire skills or a degree to further your career, we say a hearty "welcome." Here at Lake-Sumter Community College, we offer a wide variety of high-quality programs and three campus locations to serve you. We are proud of the performance of our students after graduation, both at the universities and in their chosen careers. You can start here close to home and go anywhere. We're so glad to see you continue your educational journey with us. For more than 40 years, LSCC has been committed to its mission of providing excellent student-centered academic and career-oriented education. Our greatest strength lies in our talented and dedicated faculty and staff. We pride ourselves on treating every student as an individual, so you'll find friendly people who want to help you achieve success. You can always feel free to ask for advice and guidance. The Catalog and Student Handbook provides helpful information you need to make your college experience positive and productive. You'll find information on each of our programs, as well as services such as our New Directions Program, Learning Center, and Career Center. You'll also find information about the many sources of scholarships and financial aid available, so financing your college education should never be an obstacle for you.
