Information for New First-Time-in-College Students (not for Transfer Students)
Items Needed For New Student AdmissionPlease review
the checklist provided below. These are the items needed for admission to the
College. The checklist will assist you in gathering the required information to
be an Inter-national Student at LSCC. Items 1 through 5 of the following must
be completed, received and approved by the College, prior to the completion of
any immigration paper work. 1. TOEFL SCORES: If a student is from a country whose native language is not English, the student must submit acceptable TOEFL scores of 213 for the computer-based test or 550 for the written-based test. Click here for TOEFL Test Information.

Exceptions to this rule are as follows: 2. Submit an International Student Admissions Application along with the above proof of English proficiency, with the required non-refundable $70.00 fee (U. S. Dollars) to the Admissions Office for one of our Associate in Arts, Associate in Science or Associate in Applied Science degree programs. Please Note: If the application is not accompanied with the proof of English proficiency, as listed above, the application will be returned to the student! Please Note: Certificate Programs listed in the LSCC Catalog are not acceptable by our government for students on F-1 Student Status. 3. Submit official copies of all academic transcripts, high school and college, along with official evaluations by World Education Services (WES) or by Josef Silny and Associates, Inc. There are costs associated with the evaluation of credentials. Contact the provider for more information. These documents must show the date of successful completion. If a completion date is not included on the transcript then a diploma or certificate is required along with the transcript. 4. Submit a financial statement showing $17,589.00 (U. S. Dollars or equivalent) of financial support. Click here for Financial Requirements. If not in English, a translation must be provided. If there is a U. S. sponsor (U. S. Citizen or U. S. Resident Alien) for a portion or all of the funding, a U. S. immigration form I-134 Affidavit of Support will be required along with a supporting letter or bank statement from a financial institution. 5. THE SEVIS I-901 FEE: All students must go to the Department of Homeland Security Web site to complete the I-901 form and pay the $100.00 (U.S.Dollars) fee. The receipt from paying the SEVIS I-901 fee is required for the interview at the U.S. embassy. Please Note: this fee is in addition to the normal interview fees the embassy may charge.6. The CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE for Health/Accident Insurance is required. Compliance with this college regulation is required after the I-20AB has been issued to the student AND BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS. Non- compliance will prevent any future class registration until the compliance form is submitted and approved. The Certificate of Compliance may be submitted with the above required documents. However, if you are unable to submit the Certificate of Compliance prior to coming to the U. S., you must submit this information as soon as possible after arrival in the local area, as it is required before registering for classes. |
