Access Policies

Information Commons Policies

The information commons or computer labs within the libraries are open to both students and community members. Computers provide Internet access, the Office suite of programs, as well as other course-related software. Printing is 10 cents per page in the libraries. Computers are muted. A limited number of headphones are available for academic use. For recreational use, you may bring your own headphones. See General Information and Helpful Hints and the Information Systems Resources procedures for more information.

Cell Phone Use

The LSCC libraries strive to maintain a quiet environment conducive to study and research. The use of cell phones is therefore not permitted in the libraries. Library patrons will be asked to turn off cell phones or to switch to a silent signal and to take calls outside the library.

Children in the Library

To ensure their safety, do not leave children unattended. Board Rule 2.22 states that "Unsupervised minor children of employees, students, and visitors are not permitted on campus. At all times, minor children on campus must be under the direct supervision of a responsible adult."

Copying and Faxing

Copy services are available in all campus libraries at self service machines. The cost is 10 cents per page. Faxing services are not available for students or community members on site.

Group Study Rooms

The Leesburg library provides two rooms for group study on a first-come, first-served basis. The rooms are not soundproofed so noise must be tempered.
