How to Find Articles

Articles from popular magazines, peer-reviewed journals, and newspapers are accessed either through subscription databases or by using print holdings at the LSCC libraries. There are several ways of finding articles, depending on the amount of information you have.

When you know the title of the magazine, journal, or newspaper you want, use Journal Finder to determine if it is available in either electronic or print format. Use the information provided to access the appropriate database, or ask a librarian if a magazine, journal, or newspaper is only available in print.

If you are looking for articles on a topic, use the Databases A-Z page. Databases covering a wide variety of subjects are usually a good starting point. Using the subject drop-down menu at the top of the Databases A-Z page, select General (Multidisciplinary). If you are looking for information on a specific subject, select an appropriate category from the drop-down list to see subject-specific databases.

Database access is limited to LSCC students, faculty, and staff and requires an active library card. Your borrower ID is your X-ID and your PIN is the last 4 digits of your social security number.
