Richard Morrill has been the librarian at the Sumter Campus Library since March 1, 2000. Richard has earned a B.A. in Government and Political Science at the University of Maryland, an M.S. in Education at the University of Southern California, an M.L.S. at Indiana University, and an Ed.D. at the University of Massachusetts. In the course of his career, Richard has worked in a school library, a public library, a university library and a corporate library.
Given this mixed background, Richard feels at home in the Sumter Campus Library which is, itself, an amalgam of several types of libraries. It is, at one and the same time, a community college branch library, a public library open to all residents of Sumter County and the site of the math, computer and English labs on Sumter campus.
